Toyota Smart Keymaker OBD (Support Toyota Lexus Smart Key) 1. Initiation: Push vehicle “start” button twice; “no key detected” message is displayed on IP message center. 2. Press and hold-down the button on Smart Keymaker, while plugging the unit into the vehicle OBD connector. After two short “beeps” sounds, release Smart Keymaker button. 3. Push vehicle “Power” button twice. After approximately 30 seconds, five short “beeps” from the Smart Keymaker will sound; the vehicle security light will remain flashing, and then turn off after 10 seconds. 4. After the security light turns off, the system enters a 15-minute time-out period. Toward the end of the 15 minute period, watch diligently for the security light to resume flashing. 5. Immediately after the security light resumes flashing, unplug the Smart Key Programmer, then immediately re-insert programmer back into the OBD connector. Important! Do NOT hold-down the programmer button as you performed in step (2). 6. After approximately 30 seconds, five short beeps will be heard from the programmer; followed by a long solid “beep” approximately 10-seconds later. The vehicle is now ready to accept Toyota smart keys/transmitters. 7. Gather keys/transmitters to be programmed outside the vehicle. Important! Only one unprogrammed key/transmitter can be inside the vehicle during this step. Hold the first smart key to be programmed (with the Toyota logo side of the smart-key transmitter) up against the vehicle power button. Continue holding the smart key/transmitter against the vehicle “power” button until the vehicle begins sounding a series of short beeps. The smart key/transmitter has now been successfully learned to the vehicle. 8. Set the newly learned key/transmitter aside; repeat step (7) for however many remaining smart keys need to be programmed to the vehicle (maximum of 7 keys). 9. After all smart key/transmitter have been programmed, unplug the Toyota Smart Key Maker from the vehicle OBD connector. 10. Wait 30 seconds to allow the vehicle to exit the programming mode, before attempting to start the vehicle
